You know, a little while back
we showed you one of the two different Form Factors
for the Sony Webbie HD. It was the sort of, standard
Form Factor. The one you expect a video
camera to look like. Right? They also have another one.
This one is very, very cool. The Sony Webbie HD
MHSPM1. It’s available in
a few different colors, and it’s cool because it’s got
sort of, that flip style Form Factor, but it adds in this movable lens.
So you have no problem composing shots of yourself, if you want to.
High angle, low angle, you’re going to be able to set them up however you wish
with this Sony Webbie HD. And, of course, because it is
a Sony Webbie HD, you’re getting full HD resolution.
1440 x 1080 at 30 frames per second. You can, of course, also do 720p
1280 x 720. You can do 640 x 480, and all
in full motion, 30 frames per second. This one is very nice because it comes along
with 16 GB of integrated memory. So you don’t have to worry about having
a memory stick right out of the gate. You can immediately start shooting with this.
Of course, if you want to expand the storage, you just need to add a
memory stick to this thing, and you’ll be able to expand
the storage to, really, whatever you want. It’ll shoot 5 megapixel stills, which is
a very nice high resolution still camera. And it shoots all of the video
to the H.264 format, or MP4, which makes it perfect
for uploading to the web. That means, it’s basically
H.264 has, sort of become the default standard
for web video. And you’re not going to have to do
any conversion to get your videos uploaded to YouTube, or any of
the other popular video sharing services. It also has a rechargeable battery.
Taking a look in here, this is not only where your
memory stick goes but it’s also where
the rechargeable battery is. So you don’t have to worry about futzing
around for batteries at all. You got one and it comes
with the device. It only weighs 3.4 ounces.
That’s it. 3.4 ounces. Extremely light.
And have a look at the screen there. It’s a very nice,
high resolution little screen. If I can turn it back this way
so you can see everybody back here. So you don’t have to be staring up
my nose while I show you this. But, you can very easily get to
all of the functions here. In order to take movies,
you just push the movie button. Or to take photos,
you push the photo button. Navigating around all the
menu systems is as simple as using this joystick right here,
allowing you to set up things like your self timer,
what’s on your display. There is an integrated
histogram if you so desire. It’s there. Also, you
see this button right here? This button is going to actually allow you
to tag which videos on your device you want to upload
to your computer. So you don’t even have to
interact with the device. The built-in software will transfer
the videos that you tag directly to your computer. Now, it does
have a 5x digital zoom on board. Or a 4x digital zoom on board, I’m sorry.
You can see it spooling in right there. Not an optical zoom. So you are
going to lose some video quality as you zoom in and out
with this camera. But, this thing is pretty awesome.
And in fact, it even has a webcam mode, so that when you hook it up to your computer,
you can actually use it as a webcam. Showing you around
just a couple things here. This is where you’re going to find
a couple of your buttons. It is designed to be used
in this orientation. So it’s a natural place for
a couple of buttons to be, including your on/off button,
your menu button, and your trash button. You know, when you push
that menu button, you will find, hold on one second,
and it does start up very, very fast, which is very, very cool. You have
a number of different scene modes that you can get to in here.
And of course, you also have your automatic mode, which works
really, really well. But these are going to allow the camera
to set up its exposure and everything for really, really great video
and really great shots. But it’s a cool camera.
Very easy to use, very simple to use. Underneath here you’re going to find,
actually, your USB port, your AV and your charging port,
right there. And it does come with the AV cable,
so you can hook this up to your TV, without any problem.
These things are really sweet. Very cool Form Factor.
Very easy to have around with you. You can throw this in any one of your
pockets, even if you wear skinny jeans. You can still, probably,
fit this in your pocket. And it’s tough to find things
that’ll fit in your pocket, if you’re a skinny jean wearer. So, go check this out.
It’s the Webbie HD MHSPM1. It’s out now. It’s available
in three colors. This orange, this
delightful purple here. Or, for those of you
that don’t prefer a lot of spice in your video cameras,
the silver’s available too. So go check it out.
