I voted for Denae 3x and for Andrew 4x, and 2x it was a tie. Actually the last one was also difficult and almost another tie for me! I often liked Andrew’s ideas a bit more but he cut off body parts (especially feet) at weird places several times. But really, the winners here were the kids! The heartfelt “sorry” at 4:18 when the girl blinked during a shot was too cute! 😍

Yess !! I love what you did 😍. Ihave some old vintage cameras like a Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta from 1938 (working with 120 films), a Zorki 4 (russian M4 Leica replica) not working, a Mamiya C330f working fine and a Polaroid from the 90´s… but using films and not having the possibility to develop films by myself cost too much 😭😭

What a winning idea for a video! My money was on the Pentax to not function, but I was wrong. I haven't quite made ten decades yet, but I'm getting up there, the best cameras were 50's and 60's Leica's and Nikon's, but I prefer modern Fujifilm cameras myself. Rollei TLR's had the best "look" but were a hassle in use, at least for me. The Rollei pictures were both superb, but oddly, my favorites were from the Kodak. Great jobs with the costumes, and the kids and dogs were great.

🙂 Denae, tel her "Blink!" and when she opens the eyes, you take the shot. But teach her when close her eyes, not to squeeze them – something relaxed. Eventually, to blink three times in a row – well you can adjust conform to her personality. That way, is as scratching her itch to blink, instead of asking her to freeze. A quiet shutter should help very much. Writing this comment from the first "sorry!", movie still playing, have to rewind 😛

I have bad experiences with KEH and I would not shop there again. I would not trust a channel with kickbacks. There were other complaints from other customers too. You guys should be more braver by using a light meter on the strobe lighting and I am sure you would get good results. I shoot film too with color and black and white. For a bright situation, you set up the strobe to F11 and the subjects should look good in every shot. Then you set the aperture to F11 as long there are filters that would stop the image by on or two. The camera should be set at ISO 100 with the shutter speed of 1/125th of a second. This should work.

I got an idea for your next vid. Portrait blind test across different focal lengths, see which one people like best. It seems that there's this notion that if you're gonna do portraits, you gotta use fuji 50,56,or 90. But I've been browsing albums on flickr and I see really great portraits using fuji 16,23,35,80, etc. So I was wondering if this whole portrait specific lens/focal length is what it's cracked up to be.

Out of curiosity did you use the 18-55 on the XT3 for the handheld video? I’ve been debating that lens vs gimbal+primes for some video work coming up for me. Thanks!

Loved the concept and the execution was fun to watch. Not sure about your camera pics for the different decades, but I do own 4 of the exact ones you shot with, Vest-pocket, Rolleiflex MX, M3, ME Super, and some equivalents to the other decades of course. Would have preferred the same film stock shot in all, B/W preferably. Here’s my scoring. Round Winners. 1,4,6,8,9,12,14,16,18, (I didn’t count the Fuji XT shots) Like the Rolleiflex shots best of all. Best overall shot was #3, but liked Andrews #4 rendition a little better. Sometimes it comes down to posing. I think Andrew won this round by a shot. Great video to watch. There were some great would be shots on the video that would have been great to capture that I didn’t see. Your daughter was hilarious. New subscriber now. More like this please.
